Copper Linen Love ….

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Well here we are again, launching into another sunny Spring/Summer season, and we are so excited to introduce this gorgeous, warm and on-trend Copper colour for the new season.  We’ve woven Copper into many styles this season, beginning with the Copper/White 100% linen stripe and the Fray Trim Copper pant.  Now this is a colour that will suit most complexions – you may just need to adjust your makeup/lipstick colours to tone with it, but who doesn’t want to buy a new lippy colour for Spring anyway?  And it’s a great introduction of colour into the wardrobes of many of us who are scared of ‘colour’ – yes, us rag traders are the most guilty, but we’re all in this season :).

Pop on fashion’s favourite white sneakers, or a great natural coloured sandal and you are good to go.  Enjoy the change of season and embrace a beautiful new colour palette.

Cheers from the See Saw team xx

5 reasons to love linen…

Thursday, July 25th, 2019

You probably already know that linen is an excellent fabric choice for Summer, but did you know why? Here are just a few of the many great things about this material.

  1. It’s made from flax

Flax is a plant-textile fibre. Linen fabric is made from the cellulose fibres that grow inside of the stalks of the flax plant. The linen we use at See Saw comes from renowned mills.

  1. It’s 100% natural

From the first seeds sown to the production of the garments themselves, flax is totally natural. It needs no irrigation – only rainwater – to grow, with little fertilizer and no pesticides, making it an environmentally sustainable fabric choice.

  1. It’s temperature regulating

Linen is a Summer friendly fabric which allows the skin to breathe. Therefore, linen clothes and sheets feel both cool to wear and to the touch on a hot day or balmy night. In cold weather, surprisingly, linen also retains warmth. The fabric is hypo-allergenic and anti-bacterial, too so it’s great for those with sensitive skin or for young children.

  1. It’s easy to care for

You may think linen is a high-maintenance fabric, but that’s not the case. Linen is an incredibly easy fabric to care for. It keeps its colour and, the more you wash it, the softer it becomes, making the fabric easier to iron. Linen should ideally be ironed while still slightly damp for the best results.

  1. It’s enduring

Linen is the strongest of the vegetable fibres and two to three times more durable than cotton. The high wax content of flax gives linen its characteristic lustre and it can withstand plenty of machine washing, which comes in handy on holiday when you might want to wear favourites on repeat.

We at See Saw love working with linen and these reasons are just part of why it is such an important fabric in our summer collection.

Nu Mode Boutique in Bowral

Friday, August 3rd, 2018

We recently had a lovely chat with Tanya from Nu Mode Boutique, in Bowral, NSW and here’s what she had to say…

– The Boutique has its own unique style and fashion.  Labels not seen in chain stores. The range is diverse offering something different to women .

One comment I get everyday is ‘ thank you for your service ‘.   Personalised service is important to women . They require attention but not the feeling they are being pushed into making a purchase. Creating a comfortable and friendly atmosphere definitely makes the store more welcoming.

– The store location has been known as a boutique for the past 17 years . This definitely has helped and it has seen a new customer evolve.

My own love for Fashion over the years has brought me here. Starting off 7 years ago as a casual to a management position . The opportunity to create something of my own has definitely shown me the ups and downs. Each day is a challenge and motivates me to keep moving forward.

I have always been confident with my style and to be able to help other women create their own style is important to me.  ‘Dress and love yourself for who you are now ‘.

– See Saw has definitely made its mark in my store. Customers love the diversity in styles, classic meets modern, uncomplicated yet different, trending with other fashion labels and affordable without compromising quality. Most importantly See Saw is all about natural fibres and sustainability.

– It’s a privilege to stock See Saw in my store . The owners and their staff stand by their stockists and keep delivering new and interesting lines each season.
The customers love it too.

And thank you, Tanya, we are thrilled to be stocked in such a beautiful boutique. Make sure you stop into Nu Mode boutique if you’re ever in Bowral, Southern Highlands. Such a picturesque village full of clothing boutiques, antiques, interiors, food, wine and much more!  (Tanya is wearing our superfine merino poncho – style no. SW3506)
